United Kingdom eBay Fees Structure

eBay’s fees are calculated based on whether you are a business or a private seller. If you are a business seller, the final value fee will vary based on your listed item category, regardless of your shop type.

On top of that, eBay also rewards sellers with a Top Rated Seller feature, which provides a 10% discount off your final value fee. Check out the eBay website to understand the requirements.

If you’re registered for Managed Payments, the Top Rated Seller discount will only take 10% off the variable final value fee, excluding the 30p transaction fee.

There is a maximum final value fee cap of £250 per item sold.

Business sellers are also charged an additional 20% VAT.
If you’re registered for VAT, you can claim back the VAT of the item cost and eBay’s final value fee, but the government will also take 20% of what you charged your customer.

For VAT-registered business sellers, please note that the price you listed should include the VAT.

Check out their private or business seller centre for more information on eBay’s final value fees.

If you’re selling a vehicle (excluding parts & accessories), please refer to eBay’s fees for Motors.

If you’re selling a service, please refer to eBay’s fees for Classified Ads.

PayPal fees for domestic sales are 2.9% + £0.30 of the total selling price. For international sales, it is 3.4% + £0.30. This fee is calculated based on your item’s selling price (including shipping). If your products typically sell for less than £5, you can apply for micropayments to your PayPal account. Visit this page to learn more.

eBay Final Value Fees (Managed Payments)

If you enrolled on eBay Managed Payments, you only have to pay the final value fees and no third-party payment processing fees.

The Final Value Fees are higher but still less than what you pay to PayPal.

Each order includes a £0.30 transaction fee. This applies to private and business sellers.

Private Sellers

For more information, refer to eBay’s private sellers activated on the managed payments page.
